Common First Aid Training Courses

Emergency First Aid at Work

  • Duration
    • 1 day for up to 12 people
  • Location
    • Can be done at our external training area in Westwood or at the customer’s site.
  • Prerequisites
    • Nothing, this is the basic first aid course.
  • Description
    • By the end of the course delegates will:

      – Understand the roles and responsibilities of a first aider
      – Understand the legal requirements for first-aid provision
      – Know the importance of accurate incident reporting
      – Understand how to use first-aid equipment safely
      – Understand the need to minimise the risk of infection
      – Know the importance of assessing an incident
      – Be able to undertake a primary survey
      – Know when and how to call for help

  • Qualification Gained
    • Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a certificate which is valid for 3 years, an annual refresher is recommended.

First Aid at Work – Full Qualification Course

  • Duration
    • 3 days for up to 12 people
  • Location
    • Can be done at our external training area in Westwood or at the customer’s site.
  • Prerequisites
    • Nothing, this is the basic first aid course.
  • Description
    • By the end of the course delegates will understand:

      – The roles and responsibilities of a first aider
      – The legal requirements for first-aid provision

      – How to use first-aid equipment safely

      – The importance of assessing an incident
      – When and how to call for help
      – How to conduct a secondary survey

      And be able to:

      – Undertake a primary survey
      – Administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints
      – Administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
      – Administer first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
      – Administer first aid to a casualty with burns and scalds
      – Administer first aid to a casualty with an eye injury
      – Administer first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
      – Administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis
      – Provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness

  • Qualification Gained
